ZAO Konecranes distributor Terberg Benschop in Russia

“A perfect combination” George Terberg says about the cooperation of Terberg Benschop and ZAO Konecranes. Since January 1 2009, Konecranes is Terberg Benschop's distributor in Russia. “The combination of a high quality product and an excellent service-organization is a winning combination in this country.”

As a statement about the quality of the products, managing director George Terberg says: "Our products are indestructible. This is an important quality in an immense country like Russia. Service also is important. We learned that during our long relationship with the country. The first major export order of Terberg Benschop, in the second half of the seventies, went to Russia. It consisted of forty tractors. To clarify the importance of service: recently we have been delivering spare parts, here from Benschop, intended for those vehicles. With ZAO Konecranes we are convinced we have found an ideal partner to realize both qualities even better, throughout Russia."

Director lift trucks of ZAO Konecranes in St. Petersburg, Oleg Shats,relativizes the strength of his organization east of the Urals, but stresses the strong position of ZAO Konecranes in ports, shipyards and at the terminals on the Baltic Sea, the Barentsz Sea and Black Sea. Oleg: “Especially there we have an excellent position in the sales and service, ever since the start of our organization in 1993. We were one of the first foreign companies who went to Russia after the formation of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), in 1991. Russia is the largest country in the world, twice as big as Canada, the next in line. Our range includes port cranes and machinery to handle containers, such as heavy forklifts, reach stackers and straddle carriers. It is clear that the Ro-Ro and terminal tractors of Terberg Benschop greatly improve our position in Russia. We can now offer our customers an even wider range of products and show our excellent after sales services to full advantage.”

Oleg Shats: “Konecranes's aim is to provide the customers in the industry, process industries, shipyards and ports, of hoisting and maintenance solutions that enhance productivity. The yard and terminal tractors of Terberg Benschop are an excellent extension of that program. The products of Terberg Benschop already have an excellent reputation in Russia, as productivity-enhancing solutions for the horizontal transport in ports and other industrial areas. As from now on, our unique service comes on top of that. Konecranes concluded as early as in 1962 its first preventive maintenance contract. We can take over all the repair and maintenance work of our clients, including even the staff of the repair and maintenance shop. This full service package is a successful formula, because skilled maintenance and a good parts supply are often a weak point in Russia. Therefore, we like to make it our core business. We do this successfully. ZAO Konecranes now has more than 140 employees, all over the country.”
