The Dutch magazine Transmobiel recently published an extensive report on Terberg vehicles working high up in the Swiss mountains. It`s about the expansion of the hydroelectric power-plant of Linth-Limmern AG. Terberg CC-222 and Terberg RT 222 vehicles play an important role in the complex logistics.
Central to the article about the expansion of the hydroelectric power station in the Swiss Linthal are Terberg container carriers and Terberg RT port tractors. Main contractor Marti Holding AG is working on tripling the capacity of 430 to megawatts. The Terberg trucks are an important link in the logistics, operating between the ten different construction sites, at an altitude ranging from 1860 to 2475 meters.
Much of the building construction material arrives at the Linthal by rail in containers. From there the containers are transported by road to a 25-ton cable lift, which was specifically built for this operation and will be removed after the work is completed. The Terberg trucks take care of the transport in the inside of the mountains, through specially carved tunnels. They lead to the different work areas that are being drilled. The loose stones that are the result of this drilling are used by the contractor for the production of concrete. This is to reinforce the new watercourse tunnels which are now being carved. Terberg vehicles are involved in the transport of concrete. The work is to be ready in 2015. Afterwards almost nothing of the plant will be visible anymore.
Transmobiel, is an independent truck-magazine, issued five times a year. Last year the magazine has celebrated its 25th anniversary.
The report titled ‘Terberg’s in actie op het dak van Europa’ was published in the February 2011 issue. In a second report of Transmobiel, the hydropower project Nant Drance will be the highlight. There too, Terberg vehicles are at work.
