Terberg milestone in Brunssum
Wednesday, November 10th 2010

October 26 Terberg ended a highly successful customer event. For Terberg it was a special event for several reasons.
In Brunssum, over 450 attendees from all over the Netherlands have become acquainted with the vehicles of Terberg Benschop and Volvo products, especially developed for the construction industry, partly in cooperation with Terberg Techniek. The event took place in the Henrik/Mourik quarry in Brunssum, a stone's throw from the German border. Here, the performance of the new trucks was immediately visible in practice. Terberg was present as a guest, together with Kuiken Construction Equipment. The first two days of the event were primarily intended for the employees of the Volvo organization to get acquainted with the new products. Terberg used the opportunity the next few days to present the Terberg organization to the Volvo dealers. In a separate presentation the Terberg staff informed customers about the advantages of Terberg Techniek to increase the transport performance of their vehicles.
NoveltiesVolvo Trucks organized the event to present the new Volvo FMX model line to the Dutch customers. Some models in this new Volvo construction program have a modification of Terberg Techniek to get an even higher performance than the standard products leaving the factory. There is, for instance, a version with a recessed steering rear axle. This modification increases the gross vehicle weight of an 8x4 from 37 tons to 41 tons and eventually to 43 tons. What's more, the wide spread construction named C-Ride improves the manoeuvrability compared to the standard version.
For Terberg the event in Brunssum was the first occasion to present the new Terberg FM2000T with FM3 cabin to customers, to test in practice, which was enthusiastically done. Next to the Terberg FM2000T, an 8x8 with a GVW of 46 tons, the guests could also drive a Volvo 8x6 equipped with an extra axle by Terberg Techniek. The extra axle transforms the Volvo 8x6 FMX to a 10x6 with a GVW of 50 tons.
Milestone
The joint presentation in Brunssum is a milestone in the cooperation between Volvo and Terberg that already exists 36 years. In 1974, Terberg placed the first Volvo truck cab on a Terberg truck. Now there are synergies for the customers to benefit. Terberg Techniek broadens the product offerings of Volvo Trucks. Volvo dealers enhance the service organization of Terberg. Through this collaboration, users of Terberg vehicles now can call upon 52 service addresses.
