Release Terberg/ Zagro Railroad-Shunter on Innotrans

Two specialised manufacturers being Terberg Benschop B.V. from Holland, manufacturer of special vehicles, and ZAGRO Bahn- und Baumaschinen GmbH from Germany, manufacturer of railroad equipment have jointly decided to start building railroad vehicles.

Terberg originates from a village blacksmith in 1869. After WW II Terberg started with the modification and (partly) assembly of old army tucks to fulfil the needs for  transport equipment in the Dutch market. This was the basis of the present activities:

“Engineering and assembly of special vehicles such as Terminal-, RoRo- and Yard-tractors for the transport of trailers with cargo in ports, industry, at distribution centres and airports. On top of the tractor product line we build on-and off-road trucks for the construction industry”.

The annual production is around 1.000 vehicles, which are exported to over 80 countries in the world.

ZAGRO started their company in 1969 in Grombach. A few years later the 1st railroad product was built which formed the basis for their present activities, whereby a wide range of railroad equipment and railcar movers can be delivered: rail guidance systems for trucks up to 18 tons weight for any track gauge, rerailing and maintenance vehicles. The core strength of ZAGRO is their long-standing experience and innovation. More than 4000 shunting vehicles have been supplied all over the world, and the Terberg/ZAGRO railroad vehicle will cover the requirements of customers demanding high shunting capacities. The bundled knowhow of Terberg and ZAGRO will ensure the high quality of the railroad tractors. 

Terberg/ZAGRO RR222 – 6x4 Railroad/Locomotive tractor can offer following advantages:

1. Capability of pulling Gross Combination Weights up to 2000 tons

2. A very small turning radius of 6.770 mm

3. Applicable for rail track gauges of 1.000 - 1.668 mm
