The Open day of Terberg Benschop has been a resounding success. On June 27, Terberg welcomed more than 1.000 interested people on the sunny production site in Benschop. Relations, many of them with their partner and children, admired many new special vehicles and enjoyed the show with tours and demonstrations.

More than twenty completely constructed Terberg vehicles were the core of the exhibition in Benschop. Special vehicles that Terberg Benschop makes for customers around the world. Director George Terberg was clearly proud. "It is great that so many customers and friends use the Open Day to come and see our latest products. This, I specially appreciate this year because we have no further opportunity to show our products in the Netherlands. Because of the difficult economic situation, the BedrijfsautoRai in Amsterdam is canceled this year. That we may receive so many guests, I highly appreciate. " Terberg Director Bert was also pleased to welcome so many guest but also the fact that so many customers made their Terberg vehicles available for the exhibition. "Thanks to their co-operation we can show with more than twenty examples the great performances of our products. Many of the vehicles shown complete can hardly be realized without our special products. It is also nice to welcome once again so many relations in Benschop. The last time we had an Open Day is now seven years ago."

Complete overview
Terberg Benschop has shown almost the complete program, including the Terberg terminal tractor, for example in the special version for use on distritibution sites (YT), and the known robust 4x4 (RT) RoRo tractor. Many visitors were deeply impressed by the potentials of this machine. The RoRo tractor, for the heavy work in the port, continuously showed his many capacities in a special demonstration area.

Hot fire
The smithy was a spectacular part of the tour. The forge was the end of the tour, where the participants could see with their own eyes how Terberg Benschop organizes the production of the quality vehicles. The forge showed in one view the development of the past sixty years. In this place the grandfather of the present day directors forged the first axle for a truck. That forging was the beginning of the current production of special vehicles, located now right behind the forge.

Keep burning
The fire flared high during the Open Day, every time the Terberg employee demonstrated that iron only can be forged when it is hot. In the smithy the fire was extinguished when the visitors had gone home. The warm enthusiasm within the organization however has only continued to grow by the great interest for the Open Day. Sixty years after that first hand forged axle Terberg staff is still excited about the product and confident in the future of it, in the Netherlands and the rest of the world.
