Last month Terberg Benschop celebrated the jubilee of Gijs Roodenburg and Arie Booij. Both have started their carrier on 1 July 1968 and can look back at more than forty years of development at Terberg Benschop. The Executive Board is glad that they do not leave the company yet.

In their speech for the occasion of the jubilees, the directors George and Bert Terberg thanked the two employees for their commitment. Both have developed themselves and have delivered an important contribution to the development of Terberg Benschop. “The moment that Gijs and Arie came to work at us, we did not built terminal tractors at all,” as George brought back into the memories of the jubilees and the members of their families who accompanied them. “Look at our present position, with five axled vehicles for construction sites and terminal tractors in numerous versions at work in more than 80 countries.” Bert Terberg looked back in great admiration to the age Arie had started to work at Terberg. "In 1968, Arie was not yet fourteen years old! Apparently Terberg has a good reputation in the family Booij. One encounters members of the family in much more places in the company".

Development
Both Arie and Gijs have developed their skills during their service and did not stay behind as the the company was growing. Arie keeps up the good name of Terberg by the way he is able to keep the products of Terberg in the best possible condition, to the benefit of the customers. That is still his skill when he completely independent repairs gearboxes and other parts of the drive train such as a transfer case or a differential. “It does not matter, old or new, a customer has to be helped and that is what we rapidly agree,” concluded Bert Terberg. George complimented Gijs, the son of a well-known fruit grower from Benschop, with his choice for technique in 1968. Gijs was employed at the assembly line at the time that the 6x6 N800 and SF1200 were produced. After being foreman for many years (Jan van Zuilen was the leader in the assembly department) he took over that position at the time that the assembly department was moved to hall 7, in 1997. As from that moment it was the job of Gijs, together with his 55 employees in hall 6 and hall 7, to perform to the utmost. The careers of Gijs and Arie show that Terberg Benschop knows how to appreciate effort and that the company is able to bond motivated employees, even for a very long time.
