Ergonomics:
Next to the fact that we always take into consideration the laws with regards to the working environment, we do often much more then that. For example:
All office are provided with air-conditioning
In the new assembly line we have paid extra attention to avoid the need for lifting heavy parts. This accounts for both assembly line personnel as well as for the people employed in the logistical departments. Everywhere where needed, "lift supports" have been placed. The logistics is organised in such a way that the need to pick and replace parts is reduced to a minimum.
Fast moving automatic doors are placed in several halls. In this way in winter time the warmth will remain as much as possible inside and it reduces the draft of cold air in the halls. Extra advantage is the savings made on energy and reducing COČ emissions.
In many places hose- and cable winders are used. The advantage is a clean working area and people will not tumble over the hoses laid out on the floor.
The canteen policy has been modified. The eating of healthy food is encouraged by offering daily free fruit for everyone.
Terberg Benschop BV has a social policy towards its personnel. This is noticeable through:
A strong complicity of the management towards the employees. Mutual respect has resulted in many long term engagements with the employees.

Reduction of the use of energy:
All our tractors are being built since 2010 with LED rear lights. Advantage: Less use of energy. LED lightning has also a much longer lifetime in comparison to normal bulbs and there for result in a lot less waste of material.
During the modernisation of our production facility in 2010 we have placed isolated light domes in the roof. Advantages: less need for artificial light and a better isolation. In short this will result in lower energy consumption. The walls have been replaced with extra isolated and noise reducing walls. Advantages: lower energy consumption and less noise for the surroundings of the factory.
e have applied timers on the heating/lightning and air-conditioning systems.
The company car policy is based on "green lease".
Cleaner (work) environment:
Terberg Benschop BV is using electric forklifts: The advantages are:
No exhaust gases in the production and logistic departments
Much lower noise level.
Sand blasting and paint work is sub contracted. These activities are now done by companies that made their core business of this type of work. The advantage is that because of their specialisation they are able to invest in the required equipment to work in the best environmentally friendly way.
Terberg Benschop has invested in vapor suction systems with heat recovery in the welding department. This system results in drastically lower energy consumption, combined with the fact that the exhaust gases are filtered.
We prescribe a surface treatment for our vehicles where by water based paint systems are being used.
Sustainable use of raw materials:
Waste material is separated and recycled
Terberg Benschop BV is using as much as possible return pallets. The advantage is less use of the raw material for pallets.
Our products are for a large part ready to be recycled at the end of their lifecycle.
Sustainable technological developments:
Terberg Benschop BV is continuously researching for cleaner and more fuel efficient drive lines. This has already resulted in the use of As-tronic transmissions, fuel reduction packages, use of lock ups in the convertor of the transmission and hybrid drivelines.
In our road going tipper truck chassis, we have used the Euro 5 engines long before they were obliged by law.
CSR and profit:
In this part we describe what Terberg Benschop BV is already doing with regards to CSR and profit:
Terberg Benschop BV is sponsoring some local sports clubs, local social organisations, the church, etc.
We organize various activities besides the normal jobs for the personnel, including those organized by the personnel association.
Depending on the level of the job, Terberg Benschop shares profit with the work force.
