Hauling loads in tunnels and beyond

Although our tractors are mostly found in ports and industrial sites, they are also used 2,500 metres above sea level for mountain tunnel construction. The small turning circle and equal agility in forward and reverse driving direction allow safe and efficient operation in tunnels and similar operating environments. We also offer the RT382 compact dump truck for civil engineering projects.

RT382 Dump truck

The RT382 was designed for a major tunnelling contractor. The vehicle is only 2.55 metres wide allowing two-way traffic in tunnels under construction where it can also turn round. Carrying a payload of 40 tonnes the RT382 copes with 12% inclines and the Jacobs brake enables it to negotiate long descents. The tipper body can be replaced by a fifth wheel for trailers.

RT/CC222 Container Carrier

Two of our CC units are working at 2,500 metres above sea level, carrying concrete and other materials. They are joined by four RT222 4x4 tractors which haul trailers in tunnels for a hydroelectric power plant which can only be reached by cableway. The small turning circle of the RTs enables them to turn around inside the tunnel.
